Happy Wednesday! I hope you are ready for the review that will leave you ready to eat because today we talk about Sanaa at Kidani Village in The Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Before you journey into the great beyond, Sanaa Kuamsha Breakfast is open 7 AM and 10 AM for a quick service bite to eat. It’s quick but you’re still getting all the same great flavors of Africa. This family friends feast is perfect for all types of eaters; meat and vegetarian alike.

Did I mention, dinner comes with a view? 200 birds and over 30 species of hooded animal resides on the 4 savannas of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, where you can watch gazelles, zebras, giraffes, kudu, and more. As you dine, you’ll be able to enjoy the views of African wildlife on the Sunset Savanna.

If you aren’t in to making reservations for dinner and would like to enjoy a cozy setting, the Sanaa Lounge offers apps and salads that pair well with African wines, beers, and signature cocktails such as Kande Coconut Cooler and African Starr Mojito. The seating here is first-come, first-served.

Now for our dining experience at Sanaa, we went right after Animal Kingdom closed for the evening at 5:55pm. When you go to the Lodge, you will have to continue to the left towards the Villas at Kidani Village. There will be a parking lot under the resort and a elevator will take you up, unless you choose the stairs.

Although we had reservations, we still arrived a bit early and were sat pretty quickly after. To check-in, make sure you have the MyDisney Experience app downloaded. Remember everything is hands-free now, that app is a life saver. We checked in, in the parking garage and by the time we made it to the front desk, we were being sat! That’s some good service.

The first thing set down on the table was a paper with a QR code on it. It takes you to the same menu page as the one you can scroll through when making reservations prior to. They have everything from chicken to seafood and then for those plant-eaters, they have substitutes for you as well! All of the alcoholic beverages will also be on this menu, but they also have “special to the lodge” cocktails that may not be on there.

If you go to Sanaa, get the Indian-style Bread Service. That is all I heard about while booking for this dinner; “get bread service”, “get bread service”, “GET BREAD SERVICE!” and I am here to tell you that is was so worth it. The photo above shows all the nine amazing accompaniments- Cucumber Raita, Roaster Red Pepper Hummus, Mango Chutney, Tomato-Date Jam, Tamarind Chutney, Coriander Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Red Chile Sambal, and Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle. Not pictured are the breads that came along with- Traditional Naan, Garlic-Ginger Naan, Spiced Naan, Onion Kulcha, and Paneer Paratha. This appetizer will set you back $18.00 and you can get additional bread for $2.00 per.

For our entree, we got the African-inspired Biryani. This dish comes with fragrant rice, seasonal vegetables influences from the Cape of Good Hope and is fully plant-based. As a long time vegetarian, seeing options like this pop up more and more in the parks and their dining is incredible. If you follow along with out YouTube channel, a new blog will be going up in a few weeks showcasing our full experience. The price of this entree was $19.00 and Z and I shared. After the bread service, something that is shareable was definitely something we wanted to go with, especially if we were going to get any dessert.

Speaking of, the ending of our time at Sanaa was pretty incredible. From the time we sat down, there had been a family of what seems like 16 seated behind and to the side of us. Mind you, there were only 3 tables in the area due to the new guidelines. These children’s ages ranged from a newborn to a 5 y. old and needless to say, they were pretty restless. Back to when I checked us in, you have the option of telling them if you are celebrating something and we, of course, were celebrating our 3 year anniversary. The staff at Sanaa got those kids their food after coming by our table asking if we’d like to be moved. I declined as we had an AMAZING view of the savanna, and we stuck it out! To my surprise, we really ours, they came back after the family from hades left, and brought us some celebratory and complimentary champagne and a bit of African Triple Chocolate Mousse. Although we were already planning on the mousse, the thought they put into our special trip was so magical. If you are getting the mousse, it runs about $8.00.

All in all, our experience at Sanaa was the best and we will go back every time because of it.
