How about a little Rosé?

Happy FRIDAY!

SO since I’ve been away for about a week, I figured why not give you a reason to keep reading and introduce you to our puppy, Rose!

Back in July, I woke up at about 2:30 in the morning with “new puppy” playing on repeat in my head. Literally woke me up from a deep sleep, and said look for a puppy, name her Rose.

So, that’s is what I did. I started looking.

A few months prior, Z lost his dog of 17 years. I wanted to surprise him so I kept all of the Rose business quiet. I went through so many breeds. Rat Terrier, English Pointer, Jack Russells OH MY! That is where I stopped; a Jack Russell. A friend of mine just got a JR puppy and I loved hanging out with that crazy pup so I knew it’d be a breed we’d like.

I found her. The perfect new best friend. I reached out to her breeder and set up the time and place to meet to get her. $375 in hand, I was ready to go get her, then I got jipped. TWO HOURS after I solidified plans with this woman, she sold the puppy to someone else, without saying anything.

I had messaged her asking for the directions, and the response I got was, “sorry. She’s sold.”

I’m sure you can guess my reaction. After tearing into this woman and flagging her in the puppy group, I calmed down and thought, I’ll look one more time.

I’m glad I did.

Craigslist. Now I know how you probably feel about CL, and I’m right there with you, but I thought, just maybe. A posting for Beagle/Labrador Mixed puppies popped up, and I figured I’d give it a look.

5 puppies, $25 each. Only an hour and a half from home. I asked the poster for more pictures and she did not disappoint! 3 tri-colored, 2 black & white. I narrowed it down to two girls. Made another set of plans to pick up this pup, and given the time to get there, I made 100% sure it was for real!

So the next morning, I dropped Z off at work, and made my way to the farm where these two puppies were! Now, this was a surprise so I didn’t tell anyone where I was going, which is the LAST time I will be doing that. I have watched too many crime documentaries and missing cases that I thought I was a goner given the trip scenery. After taking a long gravel road, I made it.

The husband emerged from the home, two puppies in hand. As soon as I saw the black pup, I was hooked. The other girl was beautiful, but more of a Lady than a Rose. We exchanged payment and puppy, I let his kiddos say goodbye to her, and away we went.

The whole ride home was perfect as she slept on my lap, and as soon as we picked up Z, he was in love with her and the rest in history!

Since, she has grown so much, lost so many teeth, and gained such a badonkadonk from all the love from the coffee shop up the street. She loves people, especially strangers which is dangerous. She has been kayaking, swimming, and camping and is only 5 months old.

We love her and can’t wait to see just how big she will get! Do you have a pup/dog? If so, what kind and tell me something about them in the comments!
